Family with Young Children
bit noisy from surrounding land uses, communications (phone, wireless internet) did not work properly, and staff could not figure it out.
Would gladly go back to the hotel, and hopefully they get their communication problems sorted. I prefer this type of hotel to the modern design, balconies and outside entrances on some floors, large landscaped lot, great central location, walkable to the beach, village, and commercial services. ...read more

Traveling as Couple
The newly renovated room were really nice, big flat screen
TV and a very comfortable bed. The only thing
I didn't like was the parking fee.

Our experience was not good. A band was playing and I told the desk person we were tired from traveling all day and please don't put us near the band. She said you will hear the back until about 10;30. We got to the room and the band was right above us, sounded like it was in our room. The room had not been cleaned with hair in the sink and a dirty band aid on the floor. when we complained, they did move us to another floor, and it was quite and clean. if we had been put here first we would have been happy. the move took about an hour. keeping in mine we were already tired. ...read more

The rooms have been recently remodeled and are quite impressive. The rooms have a contemporary look to them. The view from the room overlooking the Pacific Ocean is gorgeous. For a La Jolla hotel, this was terrible looking from the outside and was undergoing construction. The police were called to remove homeless people from the property and it looked like a run-down economy hotel.
